Races

humans200x300Humans

As one of the most underestimated races in Trin’Dar, Humans have the most capability to evolve into something beyond themselves. Though on the surface Humans do not appear to have any special traits they are the most diverse of all the races. Like no other race, Humans have affected the history and landscape of Trin’Dar the most, whether that is for ill or good is yet to be seen. Humans have seen great loss as their god was killed during the war of the gods and yet their greatest triumph was also in that tragedy when one of their own was ascended to replace him as reward for his great courage and wisdom.

Since that moment, Humans have strived to become more than they actually could be. History will bear out whether it is for the greatest of good or evil.

Humans range in skin color and hair and eye color. Clothing is dependent on occupation and location. For example, the average citizen of Harbordon is often clothed in brightly colored if clashing colors and patterns depending on his wealth while the average citizen of AristisAristis is usually dressed in much more practical and plainer clothing. Humans can range in height from 5’5” to 6’5” and weigh anywhere between 125 to 260 pounds.

The Dwarves are the guardians of Therigran’s knowledge of weapon craftsmanship. The Dwarven race has expanded itself beyond just master craftsmen of weapons and armor, but are also known for their ability in the field of alchemy. Their mountain home, though not open to just anyone, is where they bring all the sciences to life, such as alchemy and engineering. Although not proven fully, it is said they have found a way to harness the power of the water. These masters allow us one glimpse of the beauty held not only in the earth but also in the mind of all.

This race came to Trin’Dar on year one of the calendar, following their goddess. In the year 313, they fought a war with the native An'Lea elves to a standoff before peace was restored. They established the town of Degoria with the An'Lea elves as a commitment to that peace. In the year 500 this settlement was thought lost.

Sahaylan elves are a fair skinned race. Their hair color ranges from almost white-blond to medium red. Eye color is usually blue or green with normal variations. They have noticeably pointed ears. d care for the forest as they were instructed. Of the first of them, seven rose through the ranks to be the first council. They

became the basis for the seven tribes that now reside in the forest. Their names were, Grastor, Fliudra, Zash, Luwtra, Andavor, Einco, and Usik.

The An’Lea summoners can manipulate and communicate to some degree with plant life. They grow their homes from trees and live a partially arboreal life. They are a tribal culture, using trials of strength and resourcefulness to determine their place within the tribe.

If they wear shoes, they are usually sandals.

sorolaran250x250Sorolaran

The Sorolaran’s internal war, which is believed to have started sometime after 1070, has forever altered their history. The reason for the conflict was  a division about their way of life. The final straw that led to open battle was the withdrawn of the Sorolaran from the Treaty of DronanThese battles, in the year 1150, were the first that were witnessed by the other races and is the official start of the war, as it spilled out of the mountains.

The Sorolaran are humaniod and many have flight capable wings that are feathered. Their hair color ranges from blond to medium brown. Their eye color covers the usual human range. They are usually tanned. Their wings range from white to brown. They tend to wear loose clothing that can be worn around the wings and allows freedom of movement. They are an egg laying species and the young are hatched with wings that are incapable of flight. Sorolaran males stand 6’ to 7’2” and weigh between 180 to 250 pounds and the females stand 5’6” to 6’4” and weigh between 120 to 170 pounds.

half-ogre241x200Rogma

The Rogma began as a magical blending of man and ogre. They were used as ground troops during times of war, but after the war they couldn’t integrate into society. They were considered a slow and brutish race, prone to fits of rage. After a century they went into semi-exile in the wilderness to fend for themselves.

Then the Sorolarans, who had been charged with keeping the mountain passes clear of enemy presence, chose to abandon that work and return to the high peaks. The area that they left was full of carnivorous plants and difficult to access. The Rogma saw their opportunity and took it.

In 1096 YE Beladan accepted the Rogma into the Treaty of Dronan and gave them Toblorn Pass to keep safe.

The Rogma are fairly large and muscular standing between 6 to 7 feet tall and weighing 180 to 250 pounds with little variation between male and female. They tend to have dark complexions with somewhat sloping foreheads and prominent teeth. The males tend to be covered in body hair, while the females have slightly more even features but are just as big as the males.

pantheran200x300Pantheran

The Pantharian race is the newest of the races on Trin‘Dar. They were created in the year 1070 and became the favorite of Katsina. They have no central governing body, and tribes are made up of a family group led by the strongest male. They have welcomed the Amarin into their lands and the two dwell together peacefully.

The Pantharian is a humanoid feline race. They are covered in black fur, much like the panthers they are named for. Their eye color ranges from yellow to brown. They are capable of transforming into a panther. The bipedal form is the natural one and they prefer it. In their natural forms they wear little clothing, preferring little more than loincloths and straps to hold their weapons and personal items. Pantharians normally range in height from 4’ to 5’ tall and weigh between 130 to 160 pounds.

amarin250x250Amarin

Originally the Amarin were the result of a union between a female demon and a Human or Elvin male. These children are raised by their mothers' for seven years, until they are matured. They are then marked with the symbol of their clan so that they may be identifiedbefore being sent out into the world. These children are often the ground troops for the families they were born into.

Amarins have now grown into their own self-sustaining race, no longer needing to be born from a demon. As time went on one of the clans split off falling under the control of Sepherin. Eventually many of this clan broke away from their demonic clans and set out to make a life of their own. They were allowed to settle in the plains held by the Pantharians and built the city of Conclave.

The physical appearance of the Amarin is, due to their heritage, varied and unique. The males stand anywhere between 5’9” to 6’2” and weigh around 150 to 215 pounds while the females stand between 5’2” to 5’10” and weigh between 120 to 190 pounds. The two traits that all of them share are wings, small and incapable of flight in most cases, and fangs of 1 to 2 inches in length. Some of the variations that have been noted are as follows: Wings that are capable of flight; Skin color of almost every shade imaginable; Horns protruding from the head; Non-prehensile tail; Cloven feet; Eyes of an usual and frightful hue; Claws; Etc...

kash-ra200x300Kash’ Ra

The eldest of all the races save for the First Children, or gods, the Kash’Ra were the first inhabitants of Trin’Dar.

The Kash’Ra were created by the Elder God when the world was still new. The Kash’Ra once were a very great race with lush plains and cities that were so beautiful the Sahaylan’s would have stopped and stared at their wonder. Unfortunately, just when they reached the pinnacle of greatness hubris caused it all to crash around them. Four of their own eventually became ascended ones, gods in their own right. Sadly, two of the ascended ones became influenced by those First Children who wished them harm.

In time the Kash’Ra cast down the ascended ones and sealed them away with the help of two ascended ones, Ra’nir the God of Nature and Aditsan, keeper of their lore and magic. In return for their defiance Atoish and Vaive cursed the Kash’Ra by destroying their lands and taking away their language, both written and spoken. In the time afterwards the An’Lea taught the Kash’Ra and gave them a new language for fear that if the Kash’Ra re-learned their original language they would release the banished gods. As an added layer, the Kash’Ra themselves made it a decree to not learn writing or enter their old cities so that they would not repeat their mistakes. Now the Kash’Ra wander the desert making a life from whatever they find.

The Kash'Ra are the first race ever put upon the world of Trin’Dar. The humans were created by the god Bel to be almost exactly like the Kash’Ra before they were changed by Atoish and Vaive. They live anywhere from 70 to 80 years old, reaching maturity by the age of 16. They have dusky complexions with dark hair and eyes. They tend to have tall and slender builds with both the males and females ranging anywhere from 5 to 6 feet in height and weigh between 115 and 215 pounds. The men usually wear trimmed beards and tend to keep their hair short to help stay cool in the desert climate, while the women tend to keep their hair up and decorated with desert jewels.

There are generally 10 males born for every female born, due to this turn of events Gregor females never go forth into the world.

A Gregor is a large humanoid that is most often described as having a head like a bull with a lion’s mane. They are covered with short to medium length fur. The fur coloring ranges from a medium beige to a dark brown. Eye color ranges from light to dark brown.
